Our October speaker will be Tom Daugherty from Klinedinst PC Law Firm.  From Mr. Daugherty’s Executive Biography: "Particularly in employment law, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Seemingly small violations can quickly turn into major headaches, including individual litigation and class action lawsuits. To avoid these problems, Mr. Daugherty regularly counsels employers on best practices, policies, and multifaceted human resources issues. He keeps clients up to date on new developments in California and federal employment law, from wage and hour issues to discrimination and retaliation protections.”

  • IMA San Diego/Wild West Council CPE - "The New Job Market" and "Zoom - Beyond the Basics" February 19th
The San Diego Chapter, in cooperation with the Wild West Council are pleased to present two one-hour CPE sessions on 2/19 from 1:00 - 3:00 PST. 
    • Session 1 - 1:00 - 2:00 PST “The New Job Market” by Megan Ahn, Founder, President, Accountants Direct ( Find out what’s ahead in the post-pandemic employment world.
    • Session 2 - 2:00 - 3:00 PST “ZOOM Beyond the Basics” by Steven Iwersen, CSP (Certified Speaking Professional). By now, you’re probably pretty Zoomed out, but are you using all of the capabilities of Zoom to hold effective meetings?

Each session qualifies for 1 CPE.  There is no charge for this virtual event.

IMA® (Institute of Management Accountants) is seeking passionate volunteer members to join local community leadership teams. We have openings for many different short and long-term volunteer opportunities.


Local chapter engagement with IMA offers networking opportunities with finance professionals and companies in your community as well as development opportunities to improve your finance and leadership competencies. Do you want to advance in your career and build your project planning and presentation skills in a safe environment? Come out and join your local leadership team and be a part of empowering the profession and helping others achieve their professional goals while building your network.Requirements to serve: Be an IMA member in good standing, have high ethical standards, and be able to work collaboratively with others.

 If you have an interest and willingness to serve in a volunteer leadership role, complete an application today. The deadline to submit your application is February 12, 2021 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.

2021 Controllers Council Schedule

The San Diego Chapter and our Controllers Council sponsor CBIZ are pleased to announce the tentative schedule of speakers for calendar 2021.  Details and registration will be on our Events page approximately one month before each session.  These events will be virtual until IMA determines it is safe to hold in-person events again.

Meetings are the second Wednesday of each month and qualify for one hour of CPE unless otherwise noted:
